With support from Public Health Watch, the Vietnam Civil Society Partnership Platform on AIDS (VCSPA) is training its member organizations to more effectively monitor health services for people living with HIV, and to advocate for their sexual and reproductive rights.
Beginning in September, Pathfinder International will help train 24 members of VCSPA, who will then train up to 480 other members on issues ranging from stigma and discrimination to patients’ rights. The trainings will draw on the results of a Public Health Watch preliminary assessment that identified gaps and challenges in meeting the sexual and reproductive health needs of people living with HIV. The full assessment will be published in the Fall.
The trainings will help VCSPA more meaningfully engage with government health officials to develop guidelines on provision of sexual and reproductive health care for people living with HIV. VCSPA members will also be better equipped to monitor implementation of the guidelines in the future.
