This article examines freedom of the press in Albania from the perspective of journalists. It does not discuss individual cases, or provide statistics on violence against journalists, but it does reveal how journalists were affected by political actors and events during the turbulent phase from 1991 to 1998 by means of a statistically representative opinion poll.
