The Roma Health Project supported the Romanian Harm Reduction Network Association (RHRN) to organize a second edition of its Harm Reduction Summer School between July 25–August 1, 2010, in collaboration with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and the Faculty of Social Work at the University of Bucharest.
Twenty-five Roma and non-Roma students participated in the summer school, along with Romanian harm reduction experts. Participants had the opportunity to learn about harm reduction outreach to Roma drug users and other vulnerable groups, drug users’ human rights in health care, and harm reduction advocacy.
The summer school is part of a wider project that includes a scholarship program for Roma students who will receive six-month internships with RHRN member organizations.
