Promoting Inclusive Employment: A Romanian Experience

Today, the number of mainstreamed children with disabilities in Romania is around 5,000. However, what about inclusive employment? The concept in itself is largely unknown, and the public opinion is more skeptical about the possibility that people with mental disabilities can hold jobs on the open labor market.

In this article, the author examines the employment possibilities for the mentally disabled in Romania, 13 years after the world discovered the shocking conditions for those who were institutionalized and began focusing on improving their situation.
