Trotz großer Sorgen um die Zukunft unserer Demokratie identifizieren sich die Menschen in Mittel- und Osteuropa mit der Zivilgesellschaft und glauben an die Freiheiten, die mit dem Zusammenbruch des Kommunismus errungen werden konnten. Diese und weitere Erkenntnisse bietet der nun von den Open Society Foundations vorgellegte Bericht “States of Change: Attitudes in Central and Eastern Europe 30 Years after the Fall of the Berlin Wall”.
Auf Basis einer von YouGov in Bulgarien, der Tschechischen Republik, Deutschland, Ungarn, Polen, Rumänien und der Slowakei durchgführten Umfrage, liefert States of Change eine Bestandsaufnahme zu den Einstellungen gegenüber Demokratie, Meinungsfreiheit, Marktwirtschaft und Pressfreiheit im ehemaligen Ostblock und in Deutschland.
