This paper, prepared by Denise E. Holmes, was designed to assist OSI’s Public Health Program in its strategic planning for a larger and broader investment in reproductive health (RH) in the former Soviet Union and Central and Eastern Europe. The paper sets forth a summary of RH indicators and trends in this region, provides an overview of major donors' RH initiatives in the region since transition and related lessons learned, and suggests areas of intervention and concentration by OSI.
