How to Build Trust Between Police and Youth After the England Riots?
By Chris Baugh

The riots in England, the most widespread and destructive the UK has seen in over 20 years, raise critical questions about how police engage with young people.
Talmud Bah is the deputy director of a community arts organization for youth in Southeast London, an area where some of the riots took place. Second Wave Youth Arts, a grantee of the Youth Initiative, developed the My City Real World program intended to build trust between the police and young people.
In the video above, Talmud gives his point of view on ways to improve relationships among police, the communities they serve, and young people.
Until November 2012, Chris Baugh was a program assistant for the Open Society Youth Initiative.
