Open Society recently hosted a panel discussion to launch Less Safe, Less Free: Why America Is Losing the War on Terror (New Press) by David Cole and Jules Lobel. A critique of the Bush administration’s “war on terror,” the book demonstrates that the government’s post-9/11 policies have not only sacrificed some of our basic liberties but also made us less safe from terrorist threats.
