Open Society Fellow Howard French recently returned from Mozambique, Ethiopia, Liberia, and Namibia, where he conducted extensive interviews with Chinese workers and members of the communities where they have settled.

At a recent event, he discussed the implications of increased Chinese migration for minority rights, economic development, and governance in Africa.
