New Media in Authoritarian Societies (November 21, 2008)

The Open Society Fellowship hosted a discussion with John Kelly, founder of Morningside Analytics, on new media in authoritarian societies and the emerging networked public sphere.

Other panelists included Open Society Fellow Evgeny Morozov, who is writing a book on the Internet in authoritarian countries; Ethan Zuckerman, a Berkman Center fellow, whose work focuses on the impact of technology on the developing world; and Porochista Khakpour, an Iranian-American writer who talked about how the Iranian diaspora uses the Internet.
