Engle, a journalist, will investigate the economic and institutional interests that profit from the War on Drugs.
Engle’s work has appeared in outlets such as the BBC, NPR, Radio Netherlands International, Deutsche Welle, Atlanta Journal Constitution, Nation Magazine, Columbia Journalism Review, Denver Post, and the Haitian Times. In addition to producing his own podcast, “Drug War Dispatches,” he was also a Podcast Producer for The New York Times. He reported feature stories and produced local newscasts at WNYC Radio in New York City where he also fill-in produced for the Brian Lehrer Show. Engle was a Facilitator for StoryCorps. He is a graduate of Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and McGill University. In December 2011 he was a recipient of the inaugural I.F. Stone Award.
