After its successful opening at the Wiener Festwochen, this contemporary dance production created by choreographer Constanza Macras in cooperation with 17 Roma musicians, dancers, and amateurs of different ages from Slovakia, Hungary, and the Czech Republic, and with five performers from her Berlin-based company DorkyPark, goes on tour in Europe.

The play is a journey through the life of Roma communities in Europe, where itinerant traditions have been replaced by sedentary confined life in ghettos as well as actual expulsions from many European societies. Opposite of that is the life of the dancers of DorkyPark, nomadic by nature but without tradition, as is the life of many with jobs that require extremely frequent traveling.

The large-scale project, initiated by the Goethe Institut and coproduced by many leading European performing art festivals with the support of the Open Society Arts and Culture Program, provides participants with an extraordinary experience during the development and throughout the touring of the performance, which takes them to 10 European cities.
