Open Society Fellow Mark Gevisser gives a work-in-progress report on his research into the global revolution of ideas that is changing the way people think about sexual orientation and gender identity—and the conflicts, crises and opportunities this revolution is creating in different parts of the world. In a wide-raning interview, Gevisser touches on the US religious right’s incursions into African and Caribbean sexual politics, the sexual-minorities’ rights movement in India, the rise of the LGBT party Ang Ladlad Partylist in the Philippines, LGBT refugees in South Africa, and the growing global campaign against Israel's “Pinkwashing” strategies. 

Daniel Wolfe, the director of PHP’s International Harm Reduction Development program, moderated the discussion.
