Evaluation of Selected Illegal Drug Possession Provisions of Act No. 300/2005 Criminal Code of the Slovak Republic

  • Date
  • March 2011

The first project of its kind in Slovakia, this report evaluates the impact of relevant illegal drug possession provisions, and examines trends in illegal drug use and punishment imposed in cases of drug possession.

This project was initiated by the Open Society Foundation-Bratislava and carried out in cooperation with academic institutions and the Slovak National Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction, with the assistance of key departments of the Government of the Slovak Republic.

The project sought to compare the legislative intent manifested in new legislation with the actual application, in judicial practice, of the relevant illegal drug possession statutory provisions.

The report is available for download.
