Khaled A. Beydoun

In his book, American Islamophobia, 2018 Soros Equality Fellow Khaled A. Beydoun captures the many ways in which law, policy, and official state rhetoric have fueled the frightening resurgence of Islamophobia in the United States. The book charts a long and terrible history, from the plight of enslaved African Muslims in the antebellum South to the myriad trials Muslim Americans are facing now under the presidency of Donald Trump.

At a recent event marking the launch of his book, Beydoun discussed the damaging impact of U.S. laws, as well as ways to build successful coalitions for justice for all Americans.
